Career Day at TUM Campus Straubing Interaction between companies and talents

Where does the professional journey take you after graduation? Which sustainability jobs are suitable for graduates? At the third Career Day at TUM Campus Straubing (TUMCS) on Tuesday, international corporations and regional companies presented their sustainable jobs and provided answers to students' most pressing questions about their professional future. The TUM Sustainability Career Day was aimed at students and doctoral candidates of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), and more than 400 young men and women from several TUM locations paid a visit to the exhibitors.

The career fair at the TUM Campus Straubing was very well received.

At the Career Day, the participating companies had the opportunity to meet talented and motivated students who could potentially be future employees. There was a fruitful exchange between students with sustainability training and the exhibitors," says Prof. Alexander Hübner, who launched the careers day three years ago together with Prof. Sebastian Goerg. The focus of the fair was on professions in the fields of sustainability, bioeconomy and biotechnology. A total of around 20 companies - including regional firms - presented themselves to interested visitors.

Direct contact with potential employers

The students were delighted with the opportunity to network with companies. "We can make direct contact with potential employers and gain valuable insights into different industries and career opportunities. Overall, the Career Day was a great opportunity for us to make professional contacts and advance our own career planning," says Andreas Richter, Master's student in the Technology of Biogenic Resources program at the TUM Campus Straubing. “Networking with company representatives opens doors for internships, working student positions or even permanent positions.”

The participating companies and institutions also rated the exchange positively. “We were impressed by the students' commitment and interest. Sustainability has long since ceased to be a marginal phenomenon and will have a major impact on the professional world in the future. TUM in Straubing manages to position itself and its students in a future-oriented way and to arouse enthusiasm for the topic at events such as the Career Day,” says Katharina Benz from KPMG AG. “From our perspective, the interdisciplinary offer of the TUM Campus Straubing in the field of sustainability represents a great opportunity for students. Successful sustainability transformation requires the ability to collaborate between disciplines, as this is the only way to jointly create innovation and progress in the field of ESG.”

Presentations by company representatives

In addition to the company stands, students also had the opportunity to receive advice from the employment agency and have application photos taken. Students were also able to have their application documents checked and receive valuable tips for the application process.

The students also had the opportunity to listen to presentations by company representatives. The presentations were as follows:
